PowerSavertm Sensors
PowerSavertm sensors use a proprietary and patented technology which produces accurate and drift-free behavior, corrected to be responsive to light in the visible range human eyes “see.” 
Photo Diode sensors are sensitive to a wide range of light frequencies, primarily in the infrared range.  To increase accuracy, PowerSavertm sensors are “blue enhanced” with a filter to make them sensitive to a narrow light frequency range centered on 550nm, like the human eye.  This means the PowerSavertm sensor “sees” the same light we do. 
“Blue enhancing” reduces the sensitivity of the sensor, requiring amplification.  PowerSavertm photo sensors are designed with an operational amplifier located in the sensor head itself, using a circuit that converts the output to a current-loop between the sensor and the PowerSavertm controller for noise-immune operation.
This design results in very accurate (sensitive to a narrow range of light frequencies, programmable as to sensitivity) and stable (integrated operational amplifier, current-loop signaling) sensor.
PowerSavertm sensors are designed to last for the service life of the fixture.  Sensors are protected from the elements by ultrasonically welded and sealed weather-resistant and highly UV resistant plastic shells and lenses.  The sensor lens is hooded to reduce accumulation of contaminants.
